Excellent rating for sports venues in Quest assessment

Quest, the sport and leisure industry’s leading quality scheme managed by Sport England, awarded the top rating to SIV’s iceSheffield and the English Institute of Sport Sheffield (EIS Sheffield).

The scores place iceSheffield in the top 30 of all sport and leisure venues in the UK.

SIV is part of the not-for-profit Sheffield City Trust (SCT) whose primary objective is to improve the health and wellbeing of Sheffield people by providing facilities for sport and leisure activities.

EIS Sheffield and iceSheffield are both part of the Olympic Legacy Park – the biggest London 2012 legacy project of its kind in Europe.

SIV’s Hillsborough Leisure Centre, Ponds Forge International Sports Centre and Concord Sports Centre also received ‘excellent’ ratings. Springs Leisure Centre and Tapton Park Golf Course, were rated as ‘Good’.

Mandy Parker, general manager of iceSheffield, said: “We’re really proud to receive such a fantastic set of Quest results for our venues. Continuous improvement of our facilities is what we pride ourselves on so it is fantastic to see this reflected by the independent industry assessment.

“As a health and wellbeing charity, everything we do is geared around supporting Sheffield people to lead healthy lives and these Quest scores demonstrate the excellent service and value for money we’re delivering to our customers, day in day out.”

Quest includes a self-assessment and independent external assessment, including a mystery visit, and rates leisure venues on a range of criteria such as leadership, customer satisfaction results and impact on the local community.
