Two well-known Sheffield sporting organisations are joining forces to bring a large warehouse building back into use and create new opportunities for sport, business and employment at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.

Steel City Property Holdings, a joint venture involving Puck Stop Ltd and Steelers Ice Arena Ltd, has acquired the Technology Building on Terry Street in Attercliffe in a seven-figure deal.

The investment will see Puck Stop relocate from its current base on Attercliffe Common into a larger store with additional warehousing space, while Sheffield Steelers expands its merchandise manufacturing and retail operations.

The development is expected to create a number of new jobs, with another local sports organisation also hoped to move into the site once the fit-out is completed next year.

This move represents a major milestone for Puck Stop, giving us the space we need to expand our retail and warehousing operations, improve efficiency and create an even better experience for our customers.

Alongside the Sheffield Steelers, we are committed to bringing this building back into productive use and creating opportunities for other sports organisations to be part of the site.”

The investment will also enable Puck Stop to develop one of Europe’s largest Bauer mono-brand hockey stores, further strengthening Sheffield’s reputation as a leading centre for ice hockey and sport in the UK.

Located close to Utilita Sheffield Arena, Ice Sheffield and the English Institute of Sport Sheffield, the redevelopment of the Technology Building will add to the ever-growing sport, health and innovation ecosystem at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.

This news comes ahead of Scarborough Group International developing three padel courts at Steel City Stadium, bringing one of the world’s fastest-growing sports to Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, and creating new opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get active, connect and take part in sport.

These developments mark more positive steps in the growth of the Park, reinforcing its position as the home of world-class innovation in sport, health and wellbeing.
