Scarborough Group International (SGI), owner and developer of Steel City Stadium and the official development partner for the expansion of Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, has welcomed a wave of new businesses to the Stadium, taking its managed workspace to full occupancy.
Computacenter, Medaco and WWCS are the latest organisations to move into the Stadium Workspace, joining a growing community of local, national and international businesses operating across technology, health, sport and professional services.
Computacenter, a leading independent technology and services provider to large corporate and public sector organisations, has taken a four-person office. The company helps its customers to Source, Transform and Manage their technology infrastructure to deliver digital transformation, enabling people and their business.
Medaco, a specialist supplier of healthcare and patient-handling equipment designed to improve patient comfort, dignity and caregiver safety, has moved into a six-person office, with ambitions to expand its presence at the Stadium as further space becomes available.
WWCS has also joined the community. The company provides managed IT support, technology consultancy and cybersecurity solutions, including cloud services, Microsoft 365, connectivity and telephony. London based WWCS has chosen Stadium Workspace as the location for its first office in the north of the UK, with plans to significantly grow the business over the coming years.
The new arrivals are complemented by further growth in the Stadium’s virtual office community. Product design and manufacturing consultancy North Sky Design has established a base through existing occupier Medilink, using space within its office alongside a virtual office agreement.
Duralean UK, which provides global procurement, sourcing and technical support services to the construction, manufacturing, energy and oil and gas sectors, has also joined the virtual office community, while Sheffield digital studio Unovo has renewed its existing agreement for a further year.
Opened in 2022 following an investment of more than £10 million by SGI, Steel City Stadium was developed as a multi-purpose destination for sport, business and community activity.
Alongside its professional 3G pitch and 2,044-capacity grandstand, the Stadium offers fully managed private suites, coworking desks, virtual office packages, as well as meeting and event facilities, providing businesses with the flexible space and support they need to establish themselves and scale.
The opening of a new coworking lounge and performance nutrition café in 2025 further strengthened the offer, creating a more connected environment where people can work, meet, share ideas and build new relationships.
More than 40 organisations now use the Stadium’s facilities, including Medilink, Ice Hockey UK, UK NEQAS and Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA, reinforcing its growing role as the business gateway to Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park and providing companies with a base within a wider innovation district shaped by research, healthcare, education and elite sport.
Inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park was established to deliver a meaningful and tangible legacy for Sheffield, the UK and the world.
Its founding vision is based on the belief that the future of wellbeing lies in preventative intervention, active lifestyles and opportunities to thrive. By bringing together innovation, sport and health infrastructure in one place, the Park aims to improve health outcomes, create education and employment opportunities and support transformational progress across society.
This ambition is reflected in the Park’s array of world-leading facilities, which bring together expertise across research, healthcare, education and elite sport. These include Sheffield Hallam University’s Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre and Advanced Food Innovation Centre, the English Institute of Sport Sheffield, UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park and Canon Medical Arena.
The latest addition is The Spark, Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust’s new £24 million world-class facility and home of the National Centre for Child Health Technology.
