Our brand new flex workspace facility aimed at start-up and scale-up businesses within the sports, health and wellbeing sectors, has officially been launched.
On Thursday 23 February 2023, our development partner, Scarborough Group International (SGI) held a full day of activities, including an open afternoon with a series of inspirational talks, ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Cllr Mazher Iqbal, Co-Chair of the Transport, Regeneration and Climate Policy Committee at Sheffield City Council, and an evening drinks reception.
Located within the Community Stadium at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, the new facility provides a range of versatile, high-quality, managed workspace environments for organisations within the sports, health or wellbeing sectors, from a single coworking desk, to a private office suite accommodating from two to 24 people.
Operated by Blueprint Workspace, members of Landing Pad will have access to a range of shared services including an on-site business support team with concierge reception, online booking system and client portal, call answering and secretarial services, mail handling, free refreshments, refuse collection, property maintenance and cleaning, and onsite parking.
Rachel Vickers, Senior Commercial Manager at SGI, commented:
“A typical life cycle of an innovation-led start-up in terms of its space requirements usually starts with one or two desks and can very quickly ramp up to an entire floor, which is why flexibility is key.
“By providing a high-quality, managed environment that is designed specifically to help early-stage businesses in the sport, health and wellbeing sectors innovate, collaborate and grow, we’re supporting the wider Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park ecosystem.”
Cllr Mazher Iqbal added:
“When the Council set out its vision for the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park several years ago we hoped to create a space that brought together education, innovation and collaboration and we’re so pleased to see that becoming a reality. The launch of this new mixed workspace is another fantastic step and highlights the city’s commitment to supporting businesses of all sizes.”
Owned and operated by SGI, Blueprint Workspace was launched in 2021 in response to growing demand for flexible office space from start-ups, micro-businesses and SMEs.
No stranger to the serviced office market, SGI originally broke onto the scene in 1991 under the Forsyth brand. The Group owned and operated a successful network of over 30 business centres across the UK before selling the bulk of its portfolio to Regus in 2014.
Operations Director at Blueprint Workspace, commented:
“We’re honoured that Cllr Iqbal came to officially open our new flex workspace facility. As a business, we have extensive experience in developing and managing serviced office centres across the whole of the UK and Landing Pad at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is a fantastic addition to our expanding portfolio.”
Landing Pad is already attracting strong interest from a range of pioneering start-ups looking to establish themselves at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.
