Sheffield City Council Capital Delivery Service and Turner & Townsend will each be sending a team of their best staff volunteers to fight for their sporting reputation when the match kicks off at 4pm on Thursday 24 May.
The two organisations work in partnership after Turner & Townsend was successful in winning the tender as delivery partner to the Capital Delivery Service. The framework provides flexible resources to the Council’s in-house team to support the delivery of the Council’s Capital Programme.
Since then, the pair have worked closely alongside one another on multiple Council-led projects, including Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park where Turner & Townsend acted as project and cost management specialists.
Sam Bird, cost manager at Turner & Townsend, said: “We’ve worked together on a variety of schemes through the delivery partner framework and it all got started for charity really. We both got stuck into a 5-a-side tournament that was raising money for Action for Children.
“We’ve played each other twice now and Sheffield City Council have won both games. In the last game we lost one-nil, and before that we lost five-one, so I’d say there is quite a bit of rivalry between us!”
The 3G pitch provides a fantastic facility for Attercliffe, Darnall and the surrounding areas and complements the range of resources already accessible at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.
