All of it is in easy reach from Sheffield city centre and J34 of the M1, with good public transport connections and ample free parking on site.
Configured for professionals, accessible for everyone – our facilities include a 100m track, run routes, cycle routes, a full-size 3G pitch, cricket pitch, open green spaces and access to the Sheffield & Tinsley Canal.
English Institute of Sport Sheffield
English Institute of Sport Sheffield is the country’s largest multi-sport training centre, and is dedicated to making sport accessible for all – from local communities and schools to businesses and elite athletes with their eyes on the biggest prizes.

Proud home to Sheffield Eagles Rugby League Club, our full-size, state-of-the-art 3G outdoor pitch is also available for community use and can be hired during evenings and weekends on non-match days.
Canon Medical Arena
Canon Medical Arena is the UK’s first carbon-neutral built community arena with multi purpose sports facility and integrated Medical Diagnostic Centre.
Featuring three full-size basketball courts, with a capacity of 2,500 spectators, the arena is home to Sheffield Sharks and Sheffield Hatters professional basketball teams and Sheffield Steel Netball team. It is also available to wider sporting, education, and community organisations.
Cricket Pitch
Love cricket? The Don Valley Bowl is available for leisure, recreation and sport all year round. Yorkshire Cricket Board has installed a synthetic cricket pitch, as part of a city wide programme in association with Sheffield City Council, which can be accessed by everyone for free.
iceSheffield
iceSheffield boasts two Olympic ice pads and is home to Sheffield Steeldogs ice hockey, Sheffield Steel Kings para ice hockey and the British Ice Skating Academy of Dance.
And when tomorrow’s champions aren’t training, people of all ages and abilities are welcome to visit for ice skating lessons, public skating sessions and corporate teams days.

Our Outdoor City Run Routes are part of a city wide programme funded by England Athletics. The run routes around Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park include 1km and 1.8km easy rated routes with an optional climb to the top of the hill to take in the view across the city.
A longer 6km medium rated route takes in sections of the nearby Sheffield and Tinsley Canal, Attercliffe and River Don. All routes start and finish at the 100m marked track and are clearly signposted throughout. They are free to use and always available.
Sheffield & Tinsley Canal
Running alongside the Park, Sheffield & Tinsley Canal offers a beautiful blue space for walking, running, cycling and paddle sports.
The canal tow path also forms part of the Blue Loop, an 8 mile waterways walk taking in the Canal and the nearby River Don.
The Friends of the Blue Loop also provide regular volunteering opportunities to help give your mental health and wellbeing a boost.
Westfield Health Active Space
Our Active Space, kindly funded by Westfield Health, includes an extensive range of Fresh Air Fitness outdoor exercise equipment, including two pieces designed specifically for wheelchair access.
The equipment is free to use at any time and is designed for building strength, developing cardiovascular fitness and improving flexibility, balance and co-ordination
Instructions for use are on all pieces of equipment and video guides are also available on the Fresh Air Fitness website.
