We’re home to Olympic and Paralympic athletes but our facilities are open to everyone. So you can watch and learn from the best while you stay active.
Increasing participation in sport is a fundamental part of the Olympic legacy and we are opening doors to all kinds of opportunities for people of all ages. Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park gives local people access to a wide range of Olympic sports, such as athletics, figure skating, basketball and boxing through the world-class facilities based here – the English Institute of Sport Sheffield and iceSheffield.

Athletics
Athletics lessons at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield provide a great opportunity to try a new sport, make friends and have fun.
Lessons are designed to develop the fundamental skills of athletics but also help children to develop life skills that will benefit them as they grow older.
Ice Skating
Ice skating is a fun sport but we know that taking those first steps on the ice can be a little daunting.
Lessons at iceSheffield start from as young as 18 months to adults and are suitable for complete beginners to those wanting to improve their skating technique.
Basketball
Recreational basketball is available at the Canon Medical Arena.
The venue has three full size basketball courts and runs the Canon Respect Programme, a project to encourage good citizenship and to take part in positive activities.
Sheffield FC Inclusive
Part of the world’s oldest football club, Sheffield FC Inclusive is a team of individuals celebrating the right to be different.
As an all inclusive club the aim is to further develop and enable more children and adults with special needs to play football.
Sheffield Steel Netball
Sheffield Steel Netball (formerly DNC Netball Club) is based at the Canon Medical Arena.
Named as England Netball’s National ‘Club of the Year’ 2023 it offers netball for all – from Y2 to adults.
