A showcase event is taking place at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield, Coleridge Road, on Thursday, November 26th, from 5pm to 7pm.
UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park campus is due to open on Attercliffe Common, between Sheffield and Rotherham, in September 2016.
The £10 million facility for 600 students, aged 14 to 19, will specialise in two sectors for regional growth – human sciences and computing – and is backed by the region’s leading employers.
The UTC is part of a broader multi-million pound investment in cutting edge facilities for healthcare technologies, sports and sports science, on the Olympic Legacy Park. For more information go to http://olp.utcsheffield.org.uk/
Young people interested in joining the UTC at the age of 14 or 16 in September 2016 are invited, alongside their parents, to the showcase event. It will focus on the healthcare, wellbeing and sports science sectors.
Guests will have the opportunity to meet Nick Crew, Executive Principal, UTC Sheffield, employers supporting the curriculum, and senior staff from Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Sheffield College is the lead sponsor of both of the city’s UTCs. Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry are co sponsors.

UTCs are state funded specialist technical schools for 14 to 19-year-olds where employers are heavily involved in the curriculum, training the next generation of Britain’s creatives, scientists, engineers and technicians. In addition to their technical qualifications, students also undertake GCSEs and A Levels.
The city’s first UTC Sheffield City Centre campus, on Matilda Street, opened in September 2013. It specialises in the advanced engineering and manufacturing, and creative and digital industries. This year, 100% of leavers progressed on to employment or further study.
