Students at UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park are celebrating a fantastic set of academic and technical results today.
At the technical school for 13 to 19-year-olds, which is Ofsted graded ‘good’, students complete A Levels and technical qualifications in computing, health sciences and social care or sport science.
The technical qualifications are equivalent to between one and three A Levels.
This year’s results have seen students achieve technical results significantly above the national average as well as some outstanding A level results.
Students showcased exceptional performance in IT and Computer Science. An impressive 63% of learners secured top double distinction star grades in the IT Diploma, while 88% achieved a grade B or higher in the Cyber Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
The students superb outcomes and opportunities have led to prestigious destinations for many students, including apprenticeships with Royal London, and university courses such as Occupational Therapy and Diagnostic Radiography at Sheffield Hallam University, and Law at the University of Nottingham.

The unique experience at our UTC, combining academic and technical studies with guidance from industry experts and employers, has equipped our students with valuable technical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills that will serve them well in their future careers.”
UTCs are government funded technical schools that provide academic and technical qualifications to match the skills required of regional employers, supporting economic growth and employment. The UTC is backed by top employers who have shaped the curriculum and provide industry projects, work experience and work placements.
Employers supporting the UTC include including the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield.
Young people can join the UTC in Year 9 at the age of 13 or in Year 12 at the age of 16.
