Role: Chair
Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is a unique and innovative collaboration between major partners across the region, including Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Hallam University, and the NHS, and is the only Olympic Legacy Park ever established outside of a host city.
We believe that the future of wellbeing lies in preventative intervention, active lifestyles and opportunities to thrive, and are passionate about regeneration and bringing this to life. We are set in the heart of South Yorkshire and the Park is a major strategic investment site for the region, which will create over 5,000 high-value jobs.
Conceived in 2015, we are a leading life sciences park and have already attracted over £100m of investment into world class research, education and sports facilities, with the objective of delivering on the legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games through the four themes of Sport, Community, Environment, and Economy.
As the current postholder, Rt Hon Richard Caborn, prepares to step down we are looking for an ambitious, values-led and inclusive leader to help take us forward as our next Chair.
This next phase of our growth is highly exciting and includes developing our health and wellbeing innovation ecosystem which will see the successful candidate develop partnership working and build collaborative networks across complex systems, within the city, regionally and nationally, with a positive approach to inclusive leadership and change.
The Park is looking for an exceptional leader, able to commit a minimum of two days per month, both in person and virtually, and who brings a track record of Board leadership and delivery alongside a passion for creating social value and maximising the opportunities for Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park to improve the lives of people across South Yorkshire.
The Chair will work alongside the Chief Executive and a small support team, and with strategic partners within Sheffield, the wider region and nationally.
