2003

iceSheffield opens, featuring two Olympic size ice pads. Now home to British Ice Skating Academy of Dance launched by Torvill & Dean.

2003

English Institute of Sport Sheffield opens, as the country’s largest multi-sport training centre, home to Olympic, Paralympic and World Champion athletes.

2014

Sheffield City Council unveils plans for a life sciences park on the site of the Don Valley Stadium.

2015

Oasis Academy Don Valley opens, providing a co-educational academy for 1,200 pupils aged 2-16 years old.

2016

UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park opens, offering GCSEs, A Levels, and technical qualifications in Computing, Health Sciences or Sport Science for 600 students aged 13-18 years old.

2017

Public realm opens, providing access to open green spaces, run routes, cycle paths and the Sheffield & Tinsley Canal.

2017

3G pitch opens, providing a high-quality facility for the on-site school and college, community groups, leagues and professional teams including Sheffield Eagles RLFC and Barnsley Women’s FC.

2019

National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering opens, with the vision to be internationally recognised for excellence in sustainable innovations for the global food system.

2020

Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre opens, dedicated to improving health and wellbeing through innovations that help people move.

2020

Scarborough Group International appointed as development partner by Sheffield City Council to deliver the next phase of the Park.

2023

Landing Pad opens at the Community Stadium, supporting the innovation ecosystem and providing high quality managed workspace for start-ups, scale-ups, spin-outs in the health, wellbeing and sport sectors.

2023

Canon Medical Arena opens, as the UK’s first carbon-neutral built community arena and home to Sheffield Sharks and Sheffield Hatters professional basketball teams.

2023

LivingCare Medical Diagnostic Centre opens, providing imaging services for professional sports clubs, and health insurance companies  and offering additional capacity for the NHS.

2024

Coming Soon – National Centre for Child Health Technology, a ground-breaking facility developing the world’s most advanced and integrated healthcare system for children and young people.
